In the book Green Mountain Hero, Amos and Solomon Story
used a helical auger to bore holes for pegs to secure the beams
in their home. Fourth graders tried out a helical auger today and found
out just how tough it is to drill a hole using this tool. Just think, this was
once considered "high tech!"
